GRP Profiles

  • Corrosion Resistant
  • BS:EN 13706 Compliant (E23 / E17 grade)
  • Fire Resistant

GRP profiles are an ideal alternative to traditional steel and timber, offering cost-effective, long term and durable protection for industrial structures.

Step on Safety GRP profiles can be used in a range of ways and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit. Our GRP Profiles come in a variety of forms, including Angle, Tube, Box, Channel, I-Beam, Rod and Handrail sections. Their strength and mechanical properties match or exceed traditional steel equivalents.

Why use GRP Profiles?

All our pultruded profiles are manufactured from glass-reinforced polyester resin (fibreglass) and include a continuous strand mat and a polyester surface veil on the exterior. This combination provides exceptional corrosion resistance and weather resistance, which makes our profiles low-maintenance and incredibly durable.

Within construction, GRP Profiles are a crucial element to offer stability where it’s needed most. GRP Profiles have been used across all industries thanks to their low-cost, reliability and simple installation. As such, GRP Profiles have largely taken over more traditional materials such as aluminium and concrete as they offer the same strength while being safer.

GRP Profile benefits:

GRP Profiles are used in many industrial applications resulting in bridges, buildings and other structures. The construction industry is under pressure to produce durable structures that are lighter, stronger and quicker to build which is why GRP Profiles are an effective solution, here are just some of the benefits:

  • High impact tolerant
  • Chemical resistant
  • Low electrical & thermal conductivity
  • Lightweight
  • Fire resistant

Our GRP profiles with a wall thickness of more than 5mm are high-performance (E23 grade), while those at 3-5mm are E17 grade. The Pultruded Profiles listed below are supplied directly from stock in 6m lengths as standard. GRP Profiles can be cut to your required size for a small additional fee.

If you are a member of the Trade, we offer consignment discounts, RAL colours and installation services for all our GRP profiles. Contact us to find out more.
