Description

GRP Tactile Paving is designed to warn visually impaired pedestrians when they are approaching a change in surface underfoot or hazardous areas such as railway platforms, pedestrian crossings and stairs. They are supplied as 400 x 400mm tiles and are all finished with QuartzGrip’s anti-slip surfacing. We stock three types of tactile pavement:

In-line Blister Paving
Blister GRP Tactile Paving indicates a road crossing in the absence of a curb less than 25mm high. The surface is an essential safety feature as its terrain differentiates where a footway ends and where the carriageway begins. The tiles also allow wheelchair users access to cross roads with ease.

Off-Set Blister Paving (Platform Edge Warning Surface)
Flat-topped domes set in even rows, parallel to the direction of travel to the train. The surface can be any colour (apart from red) to provide a contrast to assist partially sighted people.

Corduroy Paving
This surface warns of the presence of specific hazards including steps, level crossings, or the approach of street light rapid transit (LRT) platforms.

QuartzGrip’s GRP Tactile Paving slabs can be installed to existing walkways as a retro-fit solution using a combination of GRP Adhesive and screws. Our beige hazard paving is available from stock; other colours can be produced to order. To discuss your requirements please get in touch.
